Little Hurricane Announce New Album 'Gold Fever'

Little Hurricane

Little Hurricane have announced the release of their second album, Gold Fever out March 7 through Death Valley/Shock Records.

The band will celebrate this release with February tour dates in the US supporting the John Butler Trio. The run includes sold out shows at Chicago’s The Vic Theatre, Danforth Music Hall Toronto, Vancouver’s Commodore Ballroom, Bowery Ballroom New York and Brooklyn'sMusic Hall of Williamsburg.

Gold Fever was recorded in historical Julian, California in an old apple-packing house built in the 1800s. The house was built from foot-and-a-half thick stone and crammed with thousands of books left behind by its author-owners, offering raw sonic sound alongside their analogue equipment. Just like their 2011 debut, Gold Fever was produced by frontmanTone Catalano. "One of the most important things for us on this album was making sure we never strayed too far from just good, straight-up rock-and-roll recording," Tone says. "We try to keep it raw and honest, and with the two of us that's not hard."

Little Hurricane are a rock duo comprised of female drummer C.C. Spina and frontman Tone Catalano. Their debut album, Homewrecker was released in 2011, receiving critical acclaim and garnering coveted performance slots at Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits music festivals. Rolling Stone.com said, "Little Hurricane might be a duo, but they have a big sound and they aren't afraid to get messy." Daytrotter adds, "There's so much rotten in the guts and so much piss and fire spewing out of Little Hurricane songs that you're fairly sure that they've ticked off the devil and they're on the wrong list."
