With their signature layered vocals and a live show to boot, Brisbane duo THE PHONCURVES are swiftly creating quite the name for themselves.
After supporting some of the country's biggest acts including Josh Pyke, Thelma Plum, Patrick James, ASTA and Paper Kites, the two-piece are thrilled to announce the release of their brand new single 'HEARTSTRINGS'. The tune is the first single from their second EP, which is set to be released in early 2014.
Along with sharing 'Heartstrings' with the world, the girls will be taking their live show to the streets with a three date tour, heading to Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. But their quirkliness is not limited to the stage. Whilst recording their as-yet untitled second EP, they turned the conventional process on its head by recording their vocals before the instruments, highlighting why it feels like their stunning harmonies are engulfing you throughout the track.
The band describes the inspiration for the track as something we're all too familiar with - the old head vs. heart conundrum. "I wrote 'Heartstrings' because I felt like I needed a song to remind myself to get out of my own head and remember just to enjoy and surrender myself to the moment".
The stunning folk-pop sound of 'Heartstrings' is sure to make you swoon, and indicates that The Phoncurves aren't just about frocks and locks...they're about making seriously good music.
HEARTSTRINGS will be released on November 18
