King Colour Release New Single, 'Break the Ice'
Explosively catchy and irresistibly charming, King Colour’s summer-‐splashed, 60’s infused indie-‐pop dance vibes have been making waves in the Sydney circuit, backed with an explosive live set and a sharp image to suit.
Since their first show, a packed out main support slot at the Annandale Hotel in mid 2012, King Colour have been smashing Sydney crowds with their modern indie spin on 60’s pop rock, frequenting venues such as the World Bar, Oxford Arts Factory and The Standard. Debut single ‘Break The Ice’ is the boys’ first official offering, and marks an exciting beginning for King Colour. Recorded at the Grove Studios in early 2013 with producer and mixer John Romeo, and mastered by Don Bartley, the band is eager to unleash the track to an expanding Sydney fan base and the world at large. King Colour are excited to bring their catchy summer grooves to festival crowds and to support serious acts over the next year, with a view to growing their fan base, strengthening their live sound and spending as much time touring, rehearsing, writing and recording as they can possibly handle.
“The best thing about ‘Break The Ice’ is how simple it is. It’s cheesy, its naïve, its ridiculously poppy, and people get really into it at shows. We wondered what it would sound like if we put a modern spin on all the cool 60’s pop stuff like the Beatles, Beach Boys, Animals, etc, and it came out sounding pretty sweet.” Josh - King Colour
