Will and The Indians Release New Single 'Welcome to My Place' + Video
Will and the Indians are a Sydney based four piece who grew up playing music together. Although relatively young, the lads have been around the block for quite a while. Their debut album ‘Wrong End of Town’ was written and recorded nearing the end of 2010, when the band members were just 15.
A plethora of new songs have been written since, and they make evident the band’s development – new single 'Welcome To My Place' being one such example. The track was recorded at 301 Studios in Sydney where the band worked alongside experienced producer and engineer Simon Todkill (The Griswolds, Matt Corby and Kanye West). “We wanted to have punch without sacrificing the groove and melody; words are always important but I hope I didn’t give too much away...” Will Thackeray – Lead Singer. 'Welcome To My Place' is a three and a half minute Rock n’ Roll master class. From the opening drum roll, through a stream of melodic gold, and into the aggressive chorus, This single will bring you on a musical journey that you never want to end.
“a brilliant evocation of suburban life...guitarist Kabir Bhalla's, J Mascis-‐like riffs excite the listener, as Thackeray's voice rises to a new level of intensity, and the rhythm section of Michael Watson and Matin Gounai propel together to create a charming chorus...it's nearly impossible to not be affected by the honesty and melancholic sentiment within these lyrics, as it seems all Will and the Indians want to do is be at peace. And with this absolute gem of a song, they bloody well should be.” Dom O’Connor – FBi Radio
