It's been a tricky 4 years spent in a maze of tangled wires and FX pedals, but Simon Berkfinger has finally emerged from the studio with a brilliant debut record under the name Feelings.
After melting faces all over the world as the frontman of the beloved and manic Philadelphia Grand Jury, he moved back to his birthplace Berlin, bought a recording studio, named it Golden Retriever, spent all of his money on equipment and decided to start again. The result Be Kind, Unwind is even more adventurous than his previous work, with wobbly guitars and beautiful melodies forming an Eno-inspired soundtrack to a quiet and otherwise pleasant nervous breakdown. The best part? It’s out right now through Create/Control! So go grab a copy and run yourself a nice warm bath.
To celebrate said release Feelings have decided to take the long player for a quick spin of Australia and who better to bring along than old friends, Philadelphia Grand Jury? Like a couple pretending to not know each other and then pick each other up in a bar, they've effectively rekindled the flame and worked out why they were doing it in the first place. The tour promises to a be a well-orchestrated mess as they tackle the best work of both groups simultaneously. One band playing the songs of two bands at one concert. Are we clear?
