New Stuff From The Ocean Party
The Ocean Party have just released their first new material for 2015 and it’s a beautiful and dreamy track that explores some pretty heavy material.
'Quarter Life Crisis' was shot at The Ocean Party's house in Brunswick on a Saturday afternoon a couple of weeks ago, with a few slabs of beer and a bunch of friends.
A make-shift studio was setup in the lounge room where people took turns in-front of the camera, and everyone else got drunk in the backyard while waiting for their go. The video features members of The Ocean Party and friends from Melbourne bands like Zone Out, Hot Palms, Shark Alarm, Andre, Pencil and Cool Drinks.
Matthew Cribb (www.luckydolphin.com.au) who recently directed clips for Teeth & Tongue and Popolice, filmed and directed the video.
"The basic premise for the clip was showing the gradual deterioration of a typical night out drinking, for better or worse. I remember wondering if it was actually going to happen, but without even trying things it just progressed so naturally. I was inside doing a bunch of "sober" takes and before I knew it Alec and Zac were outside covered in semi-drag makeup and it just went beautifully downhill from there. A couple of hours later I could barely keep the camera straight and all kinds of hilarious shit was going on" - Matthew Cribb
