Melbourne's Love Migrate EP Dissolved

Love Migrate

There is something about the music of Melbourne’s Love Migrate that takes hold of you, that sweeps you up into a familiar space of contemplation and reflection.

And although their songwriting focuses largely on themes of personal isolation, it evokes that fleeting sense of calm experienced when we realise such feelings unite us; that they are inherent in the human condition.

Following their AMP nominated album Plagued Are All My Thoughts, Like White Ants In The Fence, Love Migrate have spent the majority of 2013 working on their follow-up EP, Dissolved. The EP sees the band crafting songs that develop gently and naturally, a testament to the band’s experience at the heart of Australia’s thriving indie music scene.

Featuring deeply atmospheric instrumentation and front man Eddie Alexander’s honest, aching lyrics, Dissolved is a release that paints pictures of vast, open landscapes, and explores the many ways in which we confront past misdemeanors. Influenced by orchestral embellishment and conceptual depth alike, it is a record that holds summary to the incredible sound Melbourne has come to expect from the five-piece.

Dissolved was recorded by Paul Maybury (Baptism of Uzi, The Isle of Man, Neon) and Love Migrate member Casey Hartnett. The EP will be released through Flightless (King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, The Murlocs) on Friday 1 November, 2013.

Love Migrate will launch Dissolved at The Tote on Sunday 8 December.
