Ex-Inland Sea Frontman Jeremy Hunter with New Rock Band, New Single
In early 2013, on the eve of releasing his debut solo EP, Brisbane songwriter Jeremy Hunter put together a three-piece backing band to play his folk-rock songs live.
It seemed simple enough, but somewhere in the midst of rehearsal some strange musical chemistry ignited and the music took a turn into much heavier territory. The result is Jeremiah Hunter and the Preachermen, a guitar-driven alt-rock band that borrows from the fury of great 90s rock acts, but with a feel all their own.
New single ‘Cowards’ is the best example of their new and heavier tone. Inspired by the Global Financial Crisis and its subsequent effects on people worldwide, it captures that pervasive and all-too-modern anxiety of 'losing more than you can afford'.
