OWL EYES Announces Eastern States Nightbeats Tour
We’ve just nudged past the halfway mark of 2013 but it’s already been action packed for Melbourne’s Owl Eyes.
In honour of her highly anticipated Nightbeats tour this October, Melbourne indie-pop songstress Owl Eyes announces the accompanying Nightmixes EP – a collection of tracks from her debut album Nightswim remixed by some of the best electronic artists right now.
Today Owl Eyes shares Cassian's remix of "Hurricane" with Elektro and let us be the first to say that it is so good. Elektro praises the track as a "hypnotic piece of house magic sure to inspire some sensual dance moves with its synthesized bass line." Along with Cassian's remix of "Hurricane" are seven more wonderful rewordings that make up the Nightmixes EP, available for free to all ticket holders on Owl Eyes' upcoming Australian tour. The package will also be released digitally on iTunes October 18th via Illusive/Wunderkind.
Featuring some of Australia’s largest dance music exports in The Aston Shuffle, Cassian and Playmode, emerging artists Collarbones, Motez and Fractures and two Hype Machine-beating mixes from Giraffage (“Closure”) and Goldroom (“Jewels & Sapphires”), Nightmixes is a perfect accompaniment to an album that wasn’t shy in showing its dance music influences.
Owl Eyes is the moniker of Australian singer/songwriter Brooke Addamo who released her debut album Nightswim earlier this year. Though she's only 22, Owl Eyes has already been featured on Triple J's Hottest 100 for the track "Raiders" and her cover of Foster The People's "Pumped Up Kicks". A remarkably deep, ultra-modern, vibrant collection, Nightswim not only showcases Brooke’s signature pop sensibilities and sublime taste, it firmly establishes her as one of music’s brightest and most innovative songwriters.
Nightmixes EP Tracklist:
1. Open Up (Motez Remix)
2. Find Out (Playmode Remix)
3. Golden Lies (The Aston Shuffle Remix)
4. Hurricane (Cassian Remix)
5. Jewels & Sapphires (Goldroom Remix)
6. Closure (Girrafage Remix)
7. Nightswim (Fractures Remix)
