Danny Yau Brisbane Launch Show

Sydney based singer-songwriter Danny Yau is playing a launch show in Brisbane tonight for his recently released debut solo album “Do You Think We’ll Live Here Forever?”.

Yau will be at Foundry Records from 4pm for in-store singing and an all ages matinee performance.

He will then play at the Junk Bar at Ashgrove, supported by duo You & The Night.

Do You Think We'll Live Here Forever? is about Yau’s return to Australia and figuring out where he fits after years living in London.

“The songs from the album are set in the Inner West of Sydney, but it's really set in the neighbourhood where you feel you might make a home.

“Maybe you're stuck? But maybe you're happy. It's the people you still see around, and the people you don't see anymore…and the local pub,” Yau says.

At age 15 Yau gave up the dream of being a comic book artist when he heard You Am I in a comic book store.

Less than two years later he had learnt how to play guitar enough to write his first songs and play in his first high school band called Parker (a comic book reference).

In the years to follow Yau immersed himself in music, playing in several bands including The Hummingbirds, Josh Pyke, Lazy Susan, Bryan Estepa, The Aerial Maps, and Modern Giant.

Danny also fronted his own band, The Reservations, who made some waves over a decade ago with a low-key country pop album called “Last Impressions”.
