Loon Lake Call It A Day

After six years together, Melbourne rock band Loon Lake have announced that they will “call it a day”, but have given fans one last chance to see them on Final Wave Tour this October.

The band issued a statement to fans via social media, which you can read it full HERE.

"There is no fall out, no drama here, it’s just over and it was fun while it lasted. We are very, very proud of what we have achieved over the last 6 years, to be honest, we never really set out to achieve anything except have a bit of fun, but even in our wildest dreams, we couldn't imagine it would be this fun.

"Loon Lake isn't breaking up, we are just winding up. We are all still best mates and that wont change. Our reasons are simply that we feel like we may have run our course, we probably won't ever be much more than we are and with everyone doing different things, living in different places, it’s pretty hard to keep it going. "

The group are best known for their debut full-length album Gloamer (2013) with hits like ‘On Fire’ and ‘Cherry Lips’, which placed them at #29 on the triple j Hottest 100 of that year and #19 on the ARIA Charts.

Ironically, the band have been working on an album which they have feel is their strongest collection of tracks in years, with the single ‘Just Now’ still on the triple J airwaves. But as a further thank you to fans, those who pre-purchase tickets to their farewell tour will receive a free download of the album, due out late September.

Let’s reminisce with some of their best feel-good tunes. Hopefully it will make you want to shake your hips, and not shed too many tears.
