Wise prophet Alicia Keys once questioned “Why do all good things come to an end?” and it’s with this exact sentiment that we accept that the Bluejuice boys are calling it quits.
After 13 years in the biz the guys from Sydney have announced on Triple J this morning that at the end of 2014 Bluejuice will be no more. However, they will not be going out without a bang with the band also announcing that they are releasing a glorified greatest hits album which will include a couple new tracks and a nationwide goodbye tour.
You’ve a good chance of catching the lads as they hit Adelaide first on the 25th of September then Perth, Karratha (for the Red Earth Arts Festival), Brisbane, Coolangatta, Byron Bay, Melbourne (including a second, under-18s, matinee show), Mulgrave, Geelong, Wollongong, Canberra, and Newcastle before rolling into the band's home town of Sydney for their final, licensed all-ages, show, which goes down at the Metro Theatre on Friday, October 24.
While we can all sit around and hope that Bluejuice will pull a Johnny Farnham and reunite is a couple years it might be time to brace ourselves for a world without this iconic Australian band.
