Record Stores a Treasure Trove for Adalita

Adalita RSD

Its that time of year again! Throw away your discmans, your MP3’s and your PONO players. There’s nothing quite like the feel of vinyl on your fingers and Record Store Day is fast approaching to celebrate just that.

Magic Dirt frontwoman-turned-solo star Adalita joins ambassadors Marcia Hiens, Dan Sultan, Tim Dalton and Ian Hunter to lend her support to all things vinyl on Saturday April 19.

Adalita is performing at Bluesfest in Byron Bay on Record Store Day Australia but has offered her support in a statement comparing record stores to treasure.

"Happy Record Store Day! Support your local record store...a treasure trove, an Aladdin's cave, the vinyl rush, the secret quest, nothing compares to it,” she said.

This is an important day for the music industry as it reiterates the importance of the traditional music outlet as one of the major avenues for the public to discover the many genres of music releases each year.

Record labels Warner, Sony, EMI, Universal and Rocket Records will have special releases for the day as well as in-store performances, signings from local bands and sales.

Confirmed acts in Brisbane are below, for the rest of the Record Store Day festivities check out their website here

BRISBANE

Tym Guitars - Live music by The Hard Ons, Sounds Like Sunset, Captives, Golden Bats, Columbia Buffet and Sweet Apple.

Treasures 4 You - 20% off all vinyl and cd sale on the day
