They're Baaack

Pixies

Fans have held their breaths in anticipation for 23 years, They've dreamt about this very moment. But never fear, for the wait has been worth it; Pixies are now delivering.

Indie Cindy, the band’s first studio album since 1991’s Trompe le Monde, will be release on April 25, and pre-orders begin today, so get in quick!

Just when we thought we were never going to see any more new material from the pioneers of 80’s alt/rock, they have produced these 12 tracks produced by Gil Norton of the bands previous classics Doolittle, Bossanova and Trompe le Monde albums.

The album is a collection of the band’s most recent works including Bagboy, their first new song in over a decade and eight tracks from their recently released EP -1 and EP-2.

Three new tunes also feature on the album, from their release EP-3 and culminate as the first time fans can have all of the new Pixies music in one collection.

Indie Cindy has been a dream for the band ever since their reunion tour in 2004 says drummer David Lovering.

“New music seemed like something we just had to do, we just couldn’t continue to go out and tour without anything new,” he said.

“So the talk evolved into writing and recording, and we’re all very happy with the way everything worked out.”

The April release will come in several formats; CD, vinyl and digital, all with limited edition copies however, in conjunction with Record Store Day the band have a special edition RSD copy to be sold only at participating independent record stores a week early on April 19.

Pixies recently announced their first visit to Australia in four years; a four night residency at Sydney Opera House as part of the prestigious Vivid Festival, appearing from May 23 – 26.
