SXSW Crash Death Toll Rises to Three

The death toll from the SXSW car crash has risen to three after a woman has died in hospital yesterday.

26-year-old Mississippi native Sandy Thuy Le was in critical condition when she was admitted to University Medical Center Brackenridge on Thursday night after the drunk driver plunged through the crowd, killing two and injuring 23.

Charges of capital murder have been laid against 21-year-old Texan Rashad Charjuan Owens for the deaths of 35-year-old father Steven craenmehr and 27-year-old Austin local Jamie West.

Owens has also been charged with 23 counts of aggravated assault with a motor vehicle, after the incident which saw him drive through barricades while trying to evade police.

Six victims still remaining in hospital, one in critical condition.

Owens is being held on $3 million bail bond at Travis County Jail.
