Applications Open for the Australia Council Nashville Songwriter Residency

The Australia Council Nashville Songwriter Residency is an initiative that provides the opportunity for young songwriters to not only immerse themselves in the Nashville music scene, but to develop their creative skill sets and industry networks and relationships.

Facilitated by Australian producer and songwriter Mark Moffatt, this initiative consists of a three-month songwriter residency in Nashville, a city that boasts the highest concentration of music business in the United States of America. Introducing the chosen songwriter to the creative and business sides of Nashville music community, it aims to allow the recipient to engage in songwriting, recording, showcasing, publicity and industry networking.

The Australia Council Nashville Songwriter Residency will take place in the 2014 calendar year, with its three-month duration occurring anytime between May and November. The successful recipient will receive $15 000 to cover flights, accommodation, vehicle hire, living costs, on-costs, travel and a reasonable level of administrative costs.

Songwriters of any style or genre are encouraged to apply.
