Sneaky Sundays

Sydney’s biggest Sunday club night moves to SANTA BARBARA

Sneaky Sundays was amongst the first of its kind. A club night on what was previously the quietest night of the week. It’s now a Sydney institution, 13 years young and one of the longest, most successful Sunday club nights anywhere in the world.

Its reputation continues to attract world-class DJs, usually on the quiet: James Murphy (LCD Soundsystem), Tiga, Brodinski, A-Trak, Steve Aoki, Mylo, Riton, Hot Chip, Aeroplane, Breakbot, DJ AM (RIP)...even Simon Le Bon jumped on the mic. And of course there’s the long serving residents: Dangerous Dan, Jonny Pow, Beni, Ajax, and Jimmy 2 Sox & Hugo (Flight Facilities). At times it has felt like there were more DJs than punters, all crammed in the corner fighting to play records.

Part of Sneaky Sunday’s success has been its ability to constantly evolve and stay at the forefront of the house music scene in Sydney, so after a long and successful stint at Hugo’s Lounge in Kings Cross, Sneaky Sunday’s founder Black Angus, and his partner in Sneaky Sound System, Miss Connie Mitchell, are moving Sneaky Sundays around the corner to the brand spanking new Santa Barbara (1 Bayswater Rd, Kings Cross).

The rejuvenated night kicks off Sunday, February 24 with an all-star line-up: Sneaky Sound System, Ajax, Dangerous Dan, Jimmy 2 Sox, Jonny Pow, Cassette and Sam Francisco.
