Just What Have Those Dastardly Paper Kites Been Up To?

The Paper Kites have been somewhat dormant in 2015 so far. They’ve a good reason though: they’ve been tucked away in iconic musical city Seattle with legendary producer Phil Ek (Band of Horses, Fleet Foxes, The Shins) working away at their sophomore LP, twelvefour. It truly must have been work, as the entire album was written between the hours of midnight and four am in the belief that an artists’ best work is accomplished then. Frontman Sam Bentley explains: “it was wild to write until you are so tired that nothing sounded too over-worked - songs didn't feel restricted by a commonly analytical brain.”

Parker, Pav, and Tame Impala's Missing Millions

Back in May, Tame Impala frontman Kevin Parker turned a few heads when he revealed during his Reddit AMA he has seen practically nothing of his overseas album sales. Not that long ago, such a comment would have gone unnoticed, buried perhaps beneath the reveal of a new song, ‘Disciples’, from upcoming third LP Currents.
