Who are The Kill Devil Hills?

5 very handsome, extremely talented hirsute gentlemen from the world’s largest state that you really must pay to see…

How, when and why did you form?

Under the Influence; 2003; forgotten…. It’ll come to me…

How do you describe the music you make?

That’s a question best left to the critical minds of music fans and journalists, we call it A Mighty Racket..

What have been the highlights of your career so far?

To still be doing it, there are so many points where everything could have just fallen in a heap and floundered, it’s quite a blessing to be still doing it and loving it.

What has been the hardest part of your career?

Driving from western Spain to Belgrade, Serbia ( a distance of some 2,500km) in less than 36 hours to make a show, that was stupid, bullshit and actually nigh on impossible… we didn’t make it on time, needless to say.

Has the music industry changed much, for you, since you started?

Not a difficult question really – I think the whole landscape of the music industry has undergone a quantum leap in the last several years in adapting to the possibilities of the internet, it’s probably changed everything more than anything else ever, since the invention of the phonograph.

Who are your musical influences? Who are you listening to right now?

My mother, my year 6 and 7 Primary teacher, key figures. Currently listening to ‘In Great Silence’ by the Quietees.

What can we expect from The Kill Devil Hills in the future?

Religious conversion, cover songs, burnt rice… and maybe one of them record thingemys or two
