Black Bear Lodge Getting Ready For New Year's Eve

It might not even be December yet, but it’s never too early to start getting excited about New Year's Eve, and all the shenanigans that the night will bring.

But don’t worry, because Black Bear Lodge has got you sorted with another night of fun times and entertainment in the works.  After the success of last year's NYE party at Black Bear, they decided it was worth doing all over again, this time with three of the best garage bands in the country: The Gooch Palms, Skegss and Rolls Bayce, plus their usual favourite DJs and general tomfoolery.

For that extra special feeling, VIP packages are available with $95 (plus booking fee) getting you a drink package between 8pm to 12am, as well as the whole lineup. Standard show tickets are available for $20 plus booking fee. Tickets are on sale now, so get in early to avoid disappointment.

The Gooch Palms are a Newcastle via Los Angeles punk band who have firmly planted their feet in American soil, and have gone on to play over 100 shows across the States and Canada to packed rooms and rave reviews since arriving in March. Fast becoming known as one of the most entertaining live bands in America, The Gooch Palms will be coming back for a homecoming tour of Australia in January and February before heading back to the USA for their second appearance at SXSW in 2016 and yet another US tour.

Skegss are three legends from Byron Bay, who have earned that status from sold out Australian shows, gigs at Canadian Music Week, a debut EP recorded at Converse Rubber Tracks Studios in New York and an invitation by triple j Unearthed to play the main stage at Splendour In The Grass 2015.

Rolls Bayce is a band formed from a drunken late-night conversation between Dean McGrath (Hungry Kids Of Hungary), James Wright (Millions) and Neal Apel and draws on the trio’s shared musical influences to produce a meaty stew of classic pop/rock, 60s soul and obscure psych by deep drum and bass grooves and some spacey guitar.

I don’t know about you, but my 2016 will be off to a cracking start with a line-up like this.
