February Gig Guide

As the first month of 2015 comes to an end, we are ready to gear up and power through February in one of the most jammed packed month of gigs we've had for a long time. With big name after big name, and some highly anticipated shows finally gracing our city scape, we bring you the top 10 live gigs that the shortest month of the year has to offer.

Smith Street Band - The Hi Fi Brisbane - 06.02.2015

Coming off the back of a cracker of a year, The Smith Street Band have been seen popping up all over the shop. Including touring with Violent Soho as their support, these fellas have really gained traction and building quite the fan base themselves. They're heavy, but assessable. Definitely one for everyone.

Rolls Bayce - The Brightside - 06.02.2015

The Brissy lads are treating you to something nice. With rave reviews of their debut EP Rolls Bayce have played the absolute heck out of Brisbane, but you guys just keep wanting more. This byproduct of the Hungry Kids of Hungary split brings a psychedelic rock, born from a drunk conversation between two mates. If that's not anything to go by, then you're wrong. These lads have been making a name for themselves and for every right reason, bare witness to those reasons.

The Beautiful Girls - The Triffid - 13.02.2015

The trio of roots and all fellas are returning to your city Brisbane and it's something to get excited about. These lads have been floating around for quite a few years now and with an album dropped last year, they have reminded us once again why we fell in love with them in the first place. With a couple of band member replacements over the year, they have been refining their craft and are doing so much good. They have a sound that begs to be heard live, so do yourself a favour and get yourself along to The Triffid this month.

Angus & Julia Stone - Riverstage - 13.02.2015

The Stone siblings are returning to Brisbane for one night only as they tour for the second time in six months. After knocking their first collaborative album out the park and scoring a spot on the Hottest 100, the brother sister duo are back by popular demand. It will sure be one intimate gig, and with an expansive repertoire of tunes, fans have been begging for this gig for a long time now.

Chet Faker - Brisbane Convention Centre - 14.02.2015

A gig that will be absolute Gold. It's safe to say that 2014 was the year of Chet Faker and with his last visit to Brisbane being played at the Tivoli and now he graces the stage at the Convention Centre, this man has grown exponentially. Valentine's Day could not be more perfect with the angelic voice of the swooner himself. So if you're either a couple looking for V-Day plans, or a single lad looking for a way to cry your loneliness away, Chet has your back.

Megan Washington - The Triffid - 14.02.2015

The mad gal herself is back in Brissy for Valentines Day too. With love songs coming out of her every orifice this is definitely another cute date night for you and your spouse. She's known for her banter between audiences and putting on a wild show. She commands attention and boy do you wanna give it to her. Definitely a gig worth kicking along to.

Seth Sentry - The Hi Fi Brisbane - 20.02.2015

With a new single released and a national tour announced, the laid back chill lad himself comes backs to Brisbane for the first time in yonks. With one album up his sleeve (and fingers crossed like no tomorrow for a sophomore) the Aussie hip hop master has a stage presence that makes you envy you weren't as chill as he is. Fans have been begging for him to return to this fair city and boy are we thanking him. It will sure to go off.

The Belligerents - Black Bear Lodge - 20.02.2015

The quintet of Brisbanites are putting on a show to remind you why they are some of the rising Brisbane stars. Their pop rock sound just keeps growing and growing ever since winning the triple j unearthed spot at Parklife in 2012. They have become a force to be reckoned with, get along to this show to see why.

Foo Fighters - Suncorp Stadium - 24.02.2015

If you own a ticket to Foo Fighters, you are in possession of probably the most valuable music item of the year so far. The legends of rock are touring our nation in a tour like no other. Tickets went off like wildfire and so will the show. The arena of Suncorp is the perfect place for them and will definitely be the place to be at the end of the month.

Soundwave Festival - RNA Showgrounds - 28.02.2015 to 01.03.2015

It's every metal head's time of year, it's Soundwave time and you can hear the slashing from here. For the first time the festival will be spread over two days, giving twice the amount of time to head bang your heart out. Including the likes of Marilyn Manson, Fall Out Boy, Smashing Pumpkins and so many legends it's insane.
