Maples Announces Debut Headline Show
After recently stepping into the world of being a solo artist, Maples has released her debut single 'Stars' and the accompanying music video. Now, she's treating Sydney-folk with a single launch to celebrate!
Spending many years touring and playing abroad as a keyboardist and vocalist, Sydney-based songstress Gabby Huber will bring her first ever headline show to GOODGOD Small Club on Friday, February 20, Maples will be joined by Alyx Dennison (from disbanded experimental pop duo kyü), and producer Alex Hoax. It's sure to be something special.
'Stars' - the first track to be lifted from Maples' forthcoming album - is the product of heartache: a song about suppression and the yearning to overcome, break free, and finally soar. Gathering some of the strongest personalities from all corners of the Australian music industry, it was co-written with Julian Hamilton (The Presets), co-produced by Dave Symes (Sarah Blasko, Boy & Bear), and mixed by Timothy Whitten (Powderfinger, Lanie Lane, Youth Group). Featuring Gabby's trademark, soaring vocals and keyboard prowess, it's a sound that occupies the sonic world where acoustic instruments and electronics meet, inviting you into the surreal Maples world.
