QMusic Announces Valley Fiesta Queensland Music Awards Showcase

Just when you thought Brisbane’s biggest street party couldn’t possibly get any bigger, QMusic, Brisbane City Council and mX are pleased to announce an all-star list of Queensland’s finest musical exports joining the Valley Fiesta lineup with the Queensland Music Awards Showcase.

Performing the showcase on Sunday November 24 are none other than local favourites Cub Sport, Kingfisha, MKO, Ange Takats, and Harmony James.

QMusic, through its annual Queensland Music Awards, recognises the depth and diversity of Queensland songwriters in all musical genres. Valley Fiesta 2013 will be paying homage to these talented musicians on the day with exclusive performances by category winners from the 2012 and 2013 QMAs.

Recipients of the 2012 QMAs Song of the Year Award, Cub Sport not only perform at the special showcase, but will also find their place amongst some of the state’s greats. The Brisbane indie-pop five-piece join the likes of The Gin Club, Pete Murray, Troy Cassar-Daley and more, in having a plaque laid down in their honour on the Brunswick Street Mall ‘Walk of Fame’. The plaque comes as a lasting recognition of the group’s talent and hard work.

Don’t miss this free family event, as the spotlight shines on some of our state’s finest! The showcase runs 2-7pm, Sunday November 24, with the Valley Fiesta program running all weekend long. The full Valley Fiesta lineup is online now at www.valleyfiesta.com.
