This Saturday, September 27th, the Surry Hills Festival will burst into life across the parks and reserves of the vibrant inner city suburb.
With an impressive lineup featuring the likes of Donny Benet, The Laurels and Spookyland, local artwork, arts and crafts and an array of food and drink it is certainly going to be a pretty special day.
Some of the stand out food and drink available includes hot, fresh scones with fresh jam and cream, deluxe picnic hampers, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern options, plus of course, there is a mix of incredible food vendors across the Surry Hills Festival sites in Ward Park, Shannon Reserve and Hill Street.
Drinks have not been forgotten either, with a promise of craft beer tastings from event partner Yullis alongside film screenings and an array of delicious wines and beers in in Shannon Reserve, 10am to 10pm.
The folks at Surry Hills Festival know that as much as you may like to, sitting around to eat and drink all day may leave you in a bit of a sundrenched consumption coma, so they are offering some walking tours to activate those legs and minds. Surry Hills Neighbourhood Centre has teamed up with Urban Walkabout Sydney to present the Surry Hills Creative Trail and Guided Tours.
WALK 1: FOOD SAFARI
Join us as we uncover the secrets of Surry Hills' premier cafes and restaurants. We'll chat with food artisans, go behind the scenes with baristas, and stop to sample coffee, cheese, gelato and more along the way.
WALK 2: ART ATTACK
Calling all budding artists! Come along as we journey through the wonderland of Surry Hills’ local theatres, galleries and craft shops. It's a family-friendly affair, with face painting, interactive workshops and a sweet treat to top things off.
WALK 3: DESIGN JUNKIES
Design lovers, this one's for you. Explore Surry Hills' famed design scene, meet the makers, and take a peek into the neighbourhood's innovative studios. Local artists will be on hand to discuss everything from styling tips to the stories behind objects d'art…inspiration is guaranteed.
